After going through pictures from Mother’s Day over the past 10 years, there were two specific Mother’s Day celebrations that are my favorite to date. Two very different experiences with fond memories.
Mother’s Day 2010 (Alexa was 4 years old!)
The first year was 2010. This was our first Mother’s Day together as just Al and al. We were living in our apartment rental at the time and decided to stay home and make a day of it. We made yummy waffles for breakfast with whip cream and chocolate chips and a side of bacon!
And we watched Princess and the Frog with the best movie snack cart ever!
I mean…can it get better than this? and on a Belle cart even … off the chain!
There’s also an epic video of Alexa trying to jump rope while singing Cinderella, dressed in yella from this day… we were crying laughing watching it recently because it was so funny. I’m going to have to upload it and include it here for your reviewing pleasure. If you’re in a bad mood, it will definitely change that quickstyle!
Mother’s Day 2013 (Alexa was 7 years old)
On Mother’s Day 2013, Alexa and I played tourist and went sightseeing in San Francisco. Playing tourist ended up being so much fun. Alexa had been wanting to ride on the double decker bus for quite some time so we did it! It’s funny how we don’t think twice about doing stuff like this when we travel, but it doesn’t cross out minds to do it locally. Seeing your own areas through the eyes of a tourist allows you to see the things that you take for granted in a different light or even to just go see things that you just never thought to go see.
She was so excited!!!
The bus took us around Downtown, Chinatown, Pier 39 and Fisherman’s Wharf. This is us riding the Merry Go Round at Pier 39.
It was soo windy on the top deck!
We enjoyed checking out the shops at Pier 39 and Fisherman’s Wharf…how cute is that face with all those crooked teeth?!!
And stopped to say hey to the infamous seals…
We ended the day taking a pic in front of this heart in Union Square. It was an awesome day filled with fun memories with the greatest love of my life!
