How to Easily Decorate Your School Locker

This post on How to Easily Decorate Your School Locker may be a little late in the school year since we’re about a month away from summer vacation, but it’ll be a nice reference in the Fall. In today’s video, I share how we easily decorated Alexa’s 6th grade and 7th grade locker.

As you’ll see, her 6th grade locker was really small, it was only the size of a cubby so she couldn’t fit a lot in it. We purchased a locker kit and just installed it. It was very easy and there are so many cute options available. The only thing I would do differently is attach the paper to the locker with double sided tape to make it lie flatter and not move around.

In 7th grade, her locker was a larger, taller locker which meant she could add a locker shelf and decorate in a slightly different way. She opted for a marble background so we used a marble contact paper as the wallpaper. This was a challenge for someone with OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) because of the air bubbles but that’s what a box cutter is for. Just insert a little cut on the paper where the bubble is and smooth it out. I honestly think paper attached with double sided tape is much easier and faster.

There are so many fun accessories to add to your locker and I’ve created a kit below with some of the items we discussed in the video. A locker kit is the easiest because it includes the paper, magnets, a mirror, a dry erase board, and a cup for the dry erase pens. The kit can be repurposed year after year. If your decor colors change, just spray paint the old mirror frame or locker shelf and you’re good to go. There are various locker light fixtures that are battery operated, locker shelves, mirrors, dry erase boards, locker rugs and much more. All you need to do is add a magnet to whatever you want to use to make it attach to the interior of your metal locker.

I hope you found inspiration for your next school locker in this video. Leave us a comment below and show us a picture of you personalize your school locker.

Happy Decorating!
