🌺Aloha from the Big Island. ☕️It’s Day 17 🌺Aloha from the Big Island. ☕️It’s Day 17 here in Paradise. This forced slow down has done wonders for my overall well being. It’s been a crazy year of non-stop go, go, go, despite the pandemic! Working under the constraints of Covid has been challenging and of course, mix in a difficult client and it’s just too much joy for this gal. Waking up CA time allows me to enjoy these amazing sunrises and photos don’t capture the awe Inspiring sunsets. Those two things, I’ll miss the most. Alexa and I drove the golf cart up to the golf course to see the full moon the other night. It was so bright it lit up the entire island which is a sight to see cuz it’s pitch black here at night if you are aware of the low light rules of the #BigIsland. You cannot be here and not appreciate God’s creation. Blessed to be able to have this be the dominating memory for 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣0️⃣! Let’s make the last 2 months worth it. 🙌🏼🤙🏼👊🏼 #grateful #sohappyandgrateful #blessed #bigislandhawaii #reinventyourself
Tonight we enjoyed a glam night out at @tommybaham Tonight we enjoyed a glam night out at @tommybahamarestaurant then took pictures at the @maunalanihawaii Beach Club. Obsessed with the ambience. Will have to come back for a sunrise walk, snorkeling and dinner. Everyone enjoyed getting dressed up but taking pictures during COVID is challenging. Big day tomorrow... good night! 😴
We are thrilled to report that the last 2 days of We are thrilled to report that the last 2 days of #workfromhome and #distancelearning from our home away from home in Kamuela has been a success. 👊🏼
The WiFi has held up beautifully with all 5 of us online at the same time. The downside is we are in a time zone that’s 3 hours behind and have to wake up at 4:30am for a 8am CA time start to the day, but the upside is that we’re all motivated to finish school and work as early as possible so we can play.
🙌🏼
Tonight we went to the Ala Kahakai Trail to explore the tide pools and enjoyed dinner by the beach and watched the sunset! 🌅It was so peaceful and rejuvenating. We stopped to see shooting stars 💫and marvel at the sky here - you have to experience it in person to understand.
🌠
Yesterday we went to the large community pool with our giant 10’ pool float (ya’ll know i love me a fun #poolfloat). We picked up a beach umbrella tonight and look forward to going back to Kua Bay after school and work tomorrow.
😴
Good night!
2020 has been a challenging year but since the kid 2020 has been a challenging year but since the kids are #distancelearning and if you can #workfromhome why not change things up? We’ve been waiting for Hawaii to lift their quarantine restriction for months and we’ve been teased several times but finally solidified our plans when it was announced that 10/15 was the magic date and we recruited my sister and nieces to join us. Up until the last minute there was still the possibility we’d be quarantined but it all worked out and we’ve been enjoying the last 2 days with little to no crowds everywhere. 🎉
🌺
Day 1 we went to Kua Bay where it has the most amazing electric blue water that is so warm. We enjoyed lunch on the beach and the girls loved playing in the ocean. The only thing missing was a beach umbrella which I planned to get at Walmart but forgot despite the $400+ shopping spree for essentials!🤦🏻‍♀️. We came back to the house and enjoyed dinner on the lanai 😍
🌺
Day 2 we decided to go to Hilo to visit Akaka falls (waterfalls) which was beautiful and lush. We were literally the only ones there during our hike despite seeing a few other cars. We then drove another hour through the rain to the Hawaii Volcano National Park. We got to see the top of the crater but it was so misty and foggy then it started raining that we didn’t get to fully appreciate it. We have 7 days to enjoy the pass so we may go back when we go zip lining. 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 for better weather. We came home for another dinner on the lanai and swimming in the backyard pool with a beautiful Hawaiian sunset in the background. #thisisthelife
🌺
Tomorrow will be the first week day with the kids back to distance learning and my sister and I back to work. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 the WiFi can handle all of us online.
Long overdue day with family. It was my dad’s fi Long overdue day with family. It was my dad’s first outing in 6 months! Super nice chill day in the city and luckily the air quality wasn’t as bad as expected. Girls went to China Beach with my sister while my dad and I walked around the bougie Sea Cliff neighborhood. There are some nice homes but I’m not a fan of the narrow streets and the beach traffic. Hope your Sunday was a Funday! Hey, I rhymed. 😁
We had the opportunity to visit the #911memorial l We had the opportunity to visit the #911memorial last December. 🗽🌇 If you’ve never been, it is quite the experience that you must see firsthand. It’s mind boggling the chaos and emotions that day triggered around the world but especially at the scene. If NYC can recover from that horrific tragedy, (can you believe it’s been 19 years?!) we can survive this pandemic.💪🏼 Live life like it’s 9/12/2001 every day! 🙌🏼
My goal this holiday weekend was just one day of n My goal this holiday weekend was just one day of no work and yay, I achieved that on Saturday. We took a trip with our BFFs to the Napa Valley and enjoyed a nice al fresco lunch at Rustic restaurant @coppolawine then attempted to do some perusing but, it was too damn hot! 🥵 106-108 degree temps with no AC refuge due to this pandemic is not fun. It was great to enjoy some downtime... hope you got to do the same. Enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend! 👊🏼
🎉Wishing my @alexa.chann the happiest 1️⃣5️⃣th Birthday! 🥳 As she and her friends said, this was the most chill birthday party she’s ever had and we’re just grateful we were able to enjoy a nice lunch outdoors, despite some challenges and some much needed friendship bonding time. Thanks to all who made her day extra special. She’s a very lucky girl! Don’t let circumstances determine how awesome your year will be... just make it the best ever! 🤩 LYSM! 😘

Day 3-4 of our #sanecation has been interesting. Day 3-4 of our #sanecation has been interesting. LA is very similar to life at home with a lot of businesses still closed, only select restaurants with outdoor dining and limited places to hang out. Turns out our hotel is very popular with the entertainment crowd. 😳 We logged some pool time yesterday and outdoor shopping at the Grove was a great way to soak up the beautiful weather today. We’ve enjoyed lots of comfort food - ramen, Korean BBQ, tried a new cold noodle dish that is now my fave but why did they bring this out after I was already full?!! I had to make myself eat as much as I could without exploding. Hope you all had a good weekend. One more day before we’re back to work... sigh. 🤪#alandalsummer2020 #adayinthelifeofalandal
Day 2 of Al and al’s sanecation started off with Day 2 of Al and al’s sanecation started off with a bike ride around downtown Santa Barbara and açaí bowls for breakfast. Then we headed to Malibu where we’re staying at the @thesurfridermalibu, the cutest boutique hotel! We had lunch at the @malibufarm cafe on the pier, went standup paddle boarding at the beach then enjoyed a relaxing evening on the rooftop deck - reading (what a luxury), eating dinner then dessert and hot drinks by the fire as the sun set on an awesome day! Now I need a huge fire pit at home... but the part I really want is the ocean view ... sigh! Hope you all had a fantastic Thursday. We’re off to another adventure tomorrow... thanks for following along. #adayinthelifeofalandal #alandalsummer2020 #alandalsanecation
