Fave Home Tech Products

Smart TV – I finally upgraded my TV earlier this year after watching the same original flat screen television from about 15 years ago.  I know…can you believe it?  It was working just fine but the features I really wanted were not easily available without an Apple stick that I had to plug in when I wanted to use it and unplug when I didn’t. I also wanted the option to search online which this new Smart TV allows me to do. Plus, you can’t dispute the HD quality and it weighs a fraction of my old unit.

Echo Show – So, everyone has an Alexa or Amazon Echo now.  Last year, I ordered an Amazon Echo Show during the Black Friday sale.  It’s much pricier than a regular Amazon Alexa since it has a video screen and I’m quite certain I’m not using it to its full potential. I do love this unit and use it daily to listen to music, to audible, and to set timers. I just learned recently that it plays Amazon Prime videos.  As you can imagine, since my daughter’s name is Alexa, we can’t call ours Alexa so we programmed it to answer to Echo.

Waterproof Speaker – This has to be my absolute favorite tech to date. My daughter and I use it daily when we’re in the shower.  She enjoys listening to music while she’s in the shower and getting ready and I love listening to podcasts and audible.  If you’ve tried it, you know that the speaker on the phone alone is not sufficient to hear when you’re in the shower. This waterproof speaker has been a game changer!  You can connect to it via bluetooth and the sound is amazing. The only negative is that since we both connect to it, one of us has to disconnect in order for the other to then connect.  I promise you will LOVE it as much as we do. I miss it when I’m travelling. I think next time I’ll bring it with me. It charges with a USB cord.

Life Art Blue Light Blocking Glasses – I’m sure you can relate to using electronics regularly – computers, phones, tablets, even watching television. I was starting to get headaches more regularly and my eyes would be so tired from the screen time that I could barely keep my eyes open.  I purchased these light blocking glasses and use them daily.  It has helped significantly.  I highly recommend it.

Wireless Mouse – I’m not one to use a computer without a mouse.  I could never get used to using the built-in touch pad on a laptop.  I had a wireless mouse that was no longer working and I finally ordered a new one to replace it.  I love the slim profile of this one and it works great.  I ordered the black and gold version.

Nato Mount – I have been using this magnetic car mount for my phone for about 2 years and I couldn’t imagine not having it. In fact, when I’m travelling and am using a rental or loaner car that doesn’t have the nato mount, I miss it so much.  Crazy right? Try it and you’ll understand. I’ve been using car mounts for years and the other ones were fine but they always ended up falling apart after awhile from sun damage.  This is so much easier with the magnet on the back of the phone and it easily attaches to the mount that is installed wherever you find it to be convenient for you.  You never have to balance the phone to use the GPS. I even have one mounted by the kitchen sink so I can watch YouTube videos or listen to podcasts or audible (installed prior to having the echo show, but still use it).

Any of these units would make amazing holiday gifts.  Happy Gifting!
