Hi again.
So I’ll give you the Cliff Notes version…
I’m a mom, a daughter, a sister, an Entrepreneur, a friend, an avid learner, and a major wanderlust.
I’m funny, witty, and opinionated. I have OCD tendencies and have passed them down to my daughter. My life perspective has changed significantly over the years and I’m better for it. I’m living my perfectly imperfect life while creating my future.
I’m a single mom to a single daughter, Alexa. I’m single and I’m a mom, but technically, I’m not a “single mom” as I’m a co-parent to Alexa with her dad. He is an active part of her life which is a good thing. I’m sure I’ll be writing about this issue…the whole single parent v. co-parent thing at some point so stay tuned! This is also why it’s always been Al & al…our family has been just the two of us since she was 4 years old and I can’t imagine it any other way. We literally do everything together. She has always been a mama’s girl and I’m thinking she always will be. We have a special bond that I hope will last a lifetime. If not, I’ll have to trade her in… LOL!
I’m a busy entrepreneur running an Interior Renovation and Design business called Real Houses of the Bay Area. I help busy homeowners design and manage their home renovation projects which basically means I’m the ultimate project manager keeping tabs on clients, vendors, trades, orders, my Team and juggling mommy duties at the same time. I wouldn’t trade any of it because I am proud to have built a business that allows me the flexibility to be a mom and an entrepreneur. I’m working towards reaching a wider audience by offering my expertise through online resources soon.
I had a short stint on HGTV which I can check off my bucket list, but in all honesty, it’s not what it’s cracked up to be. I can’t even watch the network anymore I’m so jaded. Again, I’m sure I’ll write about it at some point.
In my free time, I do try to catch a yoga class (yin yoga is my fave) or a dance fitness class like Zumba, Mixxed Fit or Afro Belly Boogie (I hope my instructors don’t read this cuz I haven’t been there in awhile…). I tried Pilates and although I liked it, the reformer gave me motion sickness. I’ve always had motion sickness sensitivity, but it’s gotten better with age. I didn’t think it was a thing, but I googled it because I would feel so gross afterwards and wasn’t sure why. It’s a thing! Oh well, it’s an expensive fitness regimen to get physically ill by it so buh-bye! I love to read, but don’t have as much time to relax with a physical book so my obsession is with Audible. I’m in my car so much traveling that it’s easier to listen to a book. If you haven’t tried it, I highly recommend it! Alexa and I LOVE Dancing with the Stars. We have had the pleasure of catching two DWTS Live Performance and we saw Maks & Val on Tour as well as Julianne and Derek Hough. Can you tell we are big fans?!
Lastly, I love to travel with my daughter. She’s the best travel companion. Her birthday is in August and we have made it a tradition that we travel somewhere in honor of her birthday. Last year we went to Maui, the year before we went to Paris, and the year before that we went to New York. We go to LA, San Diego, and Palm Springs, because it’s driveable escape. I’ll be sharing our vacation photos from all our trips soon. We have so many bucket list places to visit including Italy (yearning to go to Positano), London, Greece, Australia, Japan and the list goes on.
I’m looking forward to reliving the memories through this platform. I haven’t been this excited about something in a long time!
